After spending much of last night and the early hours of the morning out in Bangkok, getting back at gone 4am, I thought I would have a relaxing day by the pool. I woke up with a bleeding toe so god knows what happened there! I intended to have a lie in this morning, but the reality was I woke up at just after 7 which was annoying, and the room I was staying in let in a lot of light.
After having another one of them breakfasts at the Bangkok Centre Hotel, where I was piled high with Thai food, fruit and toast, I decided to go back down Khao San Road to go the internet cafe which accepted my sd card before. It was however just my luck that it did not work this time! I did take this chance to have a proper catch up with things though. The other thing I wanted to do was sort out my STA Cashcard because it wasn't working and I was at the stage where I kind of needed more money. In the end I was forced to ring them and they said they had blocked my account because someone tried to use it, I wasn't impressed because it is probably going to make a hefty phone bill now.
After all them problems were sorted out and at last I had more money in my back pocket I returned to the hotel and met the others by the pool, where it was nice and refreshing to have a swim and go under their manmade waterfall. This also gave me chance to further get to know the new people. By the way apparently I'm moving to Canada.
Before long the sun set below the tall hotel and by about 5 we were all set for yet another sleeper train ride, this time down south. It was really nice to see an alternative view of Bangkok and appreciate how rapidly it is growing. After opting for the train food, where I had crispy chicken, rice and vegetables, some of us went to down to the party carriage. It was nice because it was me and all the new people, the others claimed they hadn't recovered from the night before. It was funny because the Thai train workers were proper getting into things including this old Thai man with glasses! I also met some French people this time who were going to the islands, and I got taught how to hold a cigarette with my finger on both ends!
By 11 the party was over and it was off to bed, although I ended up pretending I was the guard before going to bed! By the time I got there I found that everyone seemed to have swapped beds, although it was a nice evening because I somehow managed to keep up to date with Saints game!
